The other night I dreamed that the wedding was over and I had not been involved in many parts of it. I had....missed it. Well - that wouldn't do.
The next night we were flying down Rt 9 to find the dress. A very nice lady showed us a bunch of very boring dresses. That was their market segment....silky, lacy and boring.
I could see the look in Joanne's eyes....what did the lady call it "panic mode". Thank you. It's tough enough to go dress hunting after a hard day of work, but the long ride up a dark highway convinced me I was glad I wanted in. I was on the case and wouldn't let the mother of the bride down.
Today, in a monsoon, we headed to Camilles in West Hartford. Irene, our taffeta angel, attended to Joanne's anxiety the moment we met her. She swooped 7 or 8 great prospects off several racks and you know what? They were all wonderful....but I think we found....The One.
I can't spill the beans, but this dress looked great...elegant, whimsical, the color, the lines, it all looked perfect on her! We took pictures to email to bridezilla....and if she approves....the quest is over (this part anyway). I wonder what color tux I should get....
