Joanne, Nikki, Freddie and Ed (the florist) went to the church yesterday to get the lay of the land, so to speak. I never knew that Cala Lillies were Nikki's favorite flowers (probably something a dad should know...and of course, very expensive....but my princess....).
Joanne said she'd forgotten how beautiful St. Augustine's Church really was. That was the Romano family church growing up - I was an alter boy (back when mass was said in Latin), attended St. Augustine's School and all our baptisms, confirmations, first communions and the like were at St. Augustine. I remember many, many midnight masses on Christmas Eve. It will be a trip to walk in there with my daughter on her wedding day.
Ed is making good impressions. His ideas apparently are creative and classic at the same time and Joanne is convinced he will do a fantastic job (his card says "If you don't know your flowers, know your florist" and for a marketing appreciation guy like me, I looking forward to meeting him).
Yesterday was Grandma Marilyn's birthday - I know it bothers Nikki...but I also know how proud my mom was of her and I still picture her with us in everything we do.
Anyway, I guess Nikki's dress is in and today is a fitting day - then the girls are off to visit Nikki's good friend, Eva and her mom. I wonder if Dr. Flog has any openings...
